Insurance Guidance From Health to Wealth for All Ages

What Type of Insurance Are You Looking For?

Life can be unpredictable. Some moments can be emotionally, physically, and financially devastating. However, with the right insurance protection, you can help to reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket expenses when hard times occur. Here are the types of insurance policies that I can help any individual, family, or small business with:

Health Insurance

Medical bills can cause a lot of financial hardship for individuals and their families. However, having health insurance helps offset hospital stays, doctor’s visits, medical procedures, and medication costs.

Life Insurance

Life Insurance can offer financial protection for so many reasons. Most people only think about financial trouble after a loved one dies, but the reality is it can also cover you when you get sick, when you get injured, when you need money, or if you plan to leave a legacy. Regardless of the need, life insurance can provide you and your loved ones with the financial stability they need to move forward.

Supplemental Insurance

When you suffer from an injury or illness, having a plan that helps pay for out-of-pocket costs health insurance doesn’t cover is important! These costs can include deductibles, coinsurance, copayments, transportation, lodging, or even living expenses due to lost wages. Coverage is available for Accidents, Hospitalization, and Critical Illnesses like Cancer, Heart Attack, or Stroke.

Dental, Vision, & Hearing Insurance

Generally, most major health plans do not include coverage for dental, vision, and hearing services. The level of coverage needed for an individual or family varies, so ask today about the types of insurance and reimbursement plans that are available.

Disability and Long-Term Care

Disabilities and age-related health limitations affect many individuals and families today. The need for income protection, home health care, or long-term care at some stage of your life is a reality that many people are not prepared for. Finding the right coverage for the unexpected can be a difficult conversation, but having the financial protection when you need it most is worth it!

Annuities

An annuity is a contract between you and an insurance company that can help with asset and income protection. These contracts are designed based off your risk profile and can either be immediate or differed based on your protection needs. Ask today about how an annuity might be the right decision as a part of your retirement planning.

  • What questions should I ask myself before buying insurance?

Some of the questions you may consider when shopping for insurance:

    • Who in your household needs coverage?
    • What type of insurance are you looking for?
    • What level of coverage do you have in mind?
    • What coverage do you currently have in place? Is it enough?
    • What is your budget?
  • When should I consider reviewing my insurance plan?

    • Most insurance plans should be at least reviewed annually.
    • If your insurance coverage is based on income, it is recommended to review anytime there is a change in household income.

Any major life event can trigger the need for a review, and some of those are:

    • Losing Coverage  -  Hint: Most health plans require that you enroll no later than 60 days after losing coverage.
    • Getting Married or Divorced
    • Having a Baby
    • Change in Household Size
    • Moving or Buying a New Home
    • A major birthday, like turning 26 or 65
    • Retiring

  • Is coverage offered through my employer enough?

    • Typically, we find that only having the benefits in place that are being offered by your employer is not enough!
    • Think about what would happen if you lost your employer coverage. Most insurance rates only increase as you age, and as you age you are more prone to health-related issues that could cause you to no longer be eligible for coverage.
  • What is The Affordable Care Act? Do I qualify for it?

I specialize in helping individuals and families with The Affordable Care Act (ACA), often referred to as The Marketplace or “Obamacare”. This is a type of health insurance that is available to individuals and families that qualify.

    • Qualifications are based on your household’s demographic information, size, income, and other access to healthcare, such as: Employer coverage, coverage through a Parent or Spouse, Medicare, Medicaid, and other public assistance healthcare.
    • Many individuals and families qualify for Advanced Premium Tax Credits (APTC) that help reduce the costs of premiums throughout the year.
    • In addition to the APTC, some individuals and families qualify for Cost Sharing Reduction, which helps reduce the out-of-pocket costs of the plans.
